Description:
Small to medium sized tree. Leaves alternate, almost round with a pointed driptip, distinctly 5-9-veined from the base; margin dentate. Flowers unisexual. Male flowers in branched heads; female flowers in spike-like racemes, small, greenish. Fruit a small, oval, thinly woody capsule, yellow when ripe.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: grandifolia: with large leaves
Habitat: In the understorey and along the margins of evergreen forest.
Altitude range: (metres) 1000 - 2000 m

Worldwide distribution: Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Eswatini and South Africa.
