Description:
Small to medium-sized tree. The bark is smooth and pale grey. Fruits larger than in other subspecies and often bicoloured, half whitish, half purple.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: guineense: of Guinea,referring to West Africa in general
barotsense: of Barotseland a term for the region between Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Angola and the homeland of the Lozi people or Barotse.
Habitat: On the banks of major rivers, often overhanging the water.
