Description: |
Perennial rhizomatous herb; stems up to 1.5 m. with downwardly-directed woolly hairs. Leaves sessile, lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, 4-9 × 0.5-2 cm, dark green above, densely grey pubescent below; margin distantly serrate, apex acuminate, base truncate to obtuse. Inflorescences cylindric, tapering at apex, one principal terminal and with smaller spikes arising from the upper axils. Calyx 2-2.5 mm. Corolla white to mauve, 3-5 mm. |
