Description:
Annual herb. Stems 1-several, erect or ascending. Leaves opposite. Inflorescence a lax panicle, branches with alternately 1-2 flowers at each node. Upper lip of the calyx longer than the lower lip. Corolla tube 2-4 mm, lower lip distinctly hooded at the apex, 2 reflexed lobes near the base.

Derivation of specific name: neglectus: overlooked, neglected
Habitat: In shallow soil pockets on rocks.
Altitude range: (metres) 300 - 1400 m
Flowering time:Dec - Apr
Worldwide distribution: Angola, DRC, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
