Description:
Erect perennial herb, up to c. 2 m tall. Stems 1-few, simple or sparsely branched. Leaves (sub)sessile; linear-lanceolate to narrowly elliptic, 4-11.5 cm long, almost hairless or pubescent; apex acute to acuminate; margin regularly toothed. Inflorescences solitary or several borne on upper branches; central spike always largest, 3-5(8) cm long. Calyx puberulous, purple; teeth 3-4 mm long, spiny. Corolla 8-18 mm long, pale to sky blue, pale mauve, pinkish or almost white.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: reticulata: reticulated, referring to the network of veins on the leaves.
Habitat: In vleis and moist grassy places.

Worldwide distribution: Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique(?), Zimbabwe, Eswatini and Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape, South Africa.
