Description:
Somewhat scrambling aromatic perennial, often mat-forming. Stems up to 50 cm long, succulent, 4-angled, often rooting at the nodes, densely covered with glandular and eglandular hairs and red sessile glands. Leaves opposite, spreading, succulent, elliptic, rhombic or obovate, 10-35 mm long, same hairs and glands as the stems; margin serrate, sometimes slightly rolled under; petiole 0-5 mm. Inflorescence dense spike-like with closely touching or slightly separated 6-flowered verticils; bracts succulent, persistent, erect or soon spreading, elliptic or oblong, c. 10 mm long, often reddish on the margins. Calyx 3 mm long hairy and with sessile glands. Corolla white marked blue, blue or purple, 11-18 mm long with red sessile glands and scattered hairs on the lobes; lower lip 6-10 mm long, horizontal, boat-shaped almost enclosing the stamens.
