Description: |
Annual or perennial herb. Stems usually erect, sometimes somewhat scrambling. Leaves linear to narrowly lanceolate, normally glabrous, except for some mucilage glands; rarely pilose; margin entire. Flowers 2-5 cm, deep purple. Fruit a pubescent capsule, 1.5 - 2 cm, brown with a straight beak. See subsp. baumii for comparison. |
