Description: |
Erect, branched perennial herb, up to c. 80 cm tall. Leaves opposite, lower leaves more or less broadly ovate, often more narrowly lanceolate-elliptic higher on the stems, mostly hairless above, thinly hairy below. Flowers in terminal spikes, yellow, held in overlapping green bracts covered in long spreading hairs. |
Notes: | Superficially similar to Justicia kirkiana but, apart from being a perennial herb with a more branched, shrubby habit, the leaves are broader ovate, particularly below, and much less hairy. The inflorescence is hairy but not woolly. |
