Description: |
Glabrous shrub or small tree, 2-6 m tall. Leaves 5-22 cm long, opposite or in whorls of 3, oblong or ovate-oblong, acuminate to cuspidate at the apex; petiole 5-13 mm. Flowers terminal, solitary, 5-6-merous, borne on thick pedicels. Calyx: tube 15 mm; limb-tube 12-20 mm; lobes 2.5-6.5 cm, linear-oblong. Corolla white; tube 9-15 cm long; lobes 4-5.5 cm, broadly oblong. Anthers partly exserted. Ovary with 3 placentas. Fruits large, 4-6 cm long, glabrous, with 6 distinct corky ribs. |
