See subsp. fischeri for general description. Subsp. moramballae is distinguished by the narrower leaves, slightly larger flowers and larger, more pyriform fruits. It generally occurs at lower altitudes.
Derivation of specific name: moramballae: of Morrumballa (Moramballa) on the Zambezi in Mozambique, where the type was collected.
