Description:
Shrub or small tree. Leaves oblong-oblanceolate, elliptic to oblong-elliptic, 3-20 cm long, slightly leathery, glossy dark green above, paler below, hairless or slightly pubescent below; net-veining distinct and darker; margin entire, often wavy. Flowers in lax terminal heads; corolla creamy-white inside, pink to reddish outside, 1.5 cm in diameter, tube slender up to 8 cm long. Fruit 2-lobed, c. 1cm in diameter, reddish-brown.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: narcissodora: with the scent of Narcissus.
Habitat: In riverine forest, sometimes in Brachystegia woodland or evergreen forest.
Altitude range: (metres) 540 - 1230 m
Flowering time:May - Dec
Worldwide distribution: Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
