Description:
A rather lax scrambling shrub. Leaves alternate to sub-opposite, elliptic, up to 14 cm long, dark green above, paler below, thinly textured, mostly hairless except for some scattered hairs below; veining distinctly sunken above, raised below; margin with sharply forward pointing teeth. Capitula in lax terminal heads, pale mauve, pink or violet.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: wollastonii: named after A.F.R. Wollaston, explorer of the Ruwenzori Mts on the border of Uganda and DR Congo in 1906
Habitat: Along the margins of evergreen forest, in clearings and along streams.
