Description:
Succulent perennial herb, up to 60 cm. Stems with a basal rosette of narrowly lanceolate, glaucous leaves growing from a tuberous creeping rhizome; 1 to 4 flowerheads; bracts with small leaves.
Notes: This species was long known under the name Kleinia galpinii and has only recently been separated. The chosen name is somewhat misleading since this species is not restricted to the Chimanimani Mts but occurs throughout the Eastern Highlands from Nyanga to Chimanimani and has even been recorded from a view high rainfall outliers elsewhere in Zimbabwe.
Derivation of specific name: chimanimaniensis: of the Chimanimani Mts but not restricted to that area.
Habitat: On cliffs and rocky places in woodland.
