| Description: |
Erect, spreading or scrambling perennial, up to 90 cm tall; stems 6-angled with short appressed hairs mainly on the angles when young. Leaves narrowly ovate or lanceolate, 2-4 cm long, shortly pubescent above and on the veins beneath, mainly when young; petiole 1.5-4.5 mm long. Inflorescences aggregated into dense heads 1.8-3.7 cm long; also in the upper leaf axils. Bracts green or green-brown in the upper portion, pairs unequal; larger bract elliptic to obovate, 7.5-12.5 mm long, 3-veined, pubescent on margin and main veins and also with longer hairs on the margin. Calyx lobes 4.3-4.7 mm long, glandular pubescent; margin long ciliate. Corolla 14.5-19.5 mm long, magenta-pink, purple or dark wine-red, pubescent with some glandular hairs outside; tube 6.6-8.5 mm long; upper lip oblong, 8-11.5 mm long; lower lip more or less broadly ovate or elliptic, 7.5-10.5 mm long. Capsule 6-6.5 mm long, pubescent with some hairs glandular. |
