Description: Shrub or small tree. Branches reddish, angled with distinct winged ridges and a zig-zagged shape. Leaves held in one plane; margin with fine teeth pointing forward. Flowers in leaf axils along the branches. Berries white.

Worldwide distribution: Kenya, Tanzania Malawi, Mozambique, northeastern Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mpumalanga South Africa, Madagascar and the Mascarene islands.
