Description of the genus

Climbing shrubs or lianes. Leaves opposite. Stipules interpetiolar, without a keeled lobe. Inflorescences pedunculate, branched cymes. Flowers 4-6-merous. Calyx: tube ellipsoid to ovoid; limb dentate. Corolla white, cream or yellow with a cylindric tube and reflexed lobes. Anthers exserted but not reflexed. Ovary 2-locular; ovule 1 per loculus. Fruit a 2-seeded drupe, ± 2-lobed and flattened.

Derivation of name: after Johan Diederich Möhr Keet, 1882-1976, a South African forester and plant collector.

Worldwide: 40 species in tropical and South Africa.

Zimbabwe: 2 taxa.
