Description: |
This subspecies is characterized by having glaucous culms and leaves. The culms rarely exceed 60 cm. in height, being usually much branched, especially in their upper part. The panicles are pallid, narrow, dense, spiciform, terminal and borne at the ends of the branches. The auricles of the leaves are usually short-ciliolate, but sometimes possessing stiff and spreading hairs as in subsp. robusta, indicating a close relationship to the latter. |
