Description:
Erect epiphytic or lithophytic herb. Leaves in a basal rosette, lanceolate to narrowly obovate, often spotted with undulate margins. Inflorescence laxly few to many-flowered, flowers often facing more or less to one side. Flowers pink to lilac; lip 3-lobed with darker pink spots; spur absent.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: zambesiaca: of the Zambezi region
Habitat: In submontane evergreen forest on mossy rock, rotting logs and on trucks of trees, occasionally in woodland.
Altitude range: (metres) 1300 - 2150 m
Flowering time:Feb - Mar
Worldwide distribution: Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
