Description: |
Unarmed shrub or small tree, to 10 m. Leaves grey-pruinose: rhachis bearing glands on upper side, only at the junction of each pair of pinnae. Leaves with c.12-25 pairs of pinnae; leaflets to 5.5 mm, numerous. Flowers bright yellow. Pods not or only slightly beaded. |
Notes: | An invader particularly in South Africa. In Zimbabwe it is more localised than the closely related A. mearnsii, due to the fact that it was not introduced on a large scale for the tannin industry. For differences between the two species see A. mearnsii. Also see A. melanoxylon for comparison. |
