Description:
Erect annual 20–60 cm tall, sometimes developing a few weak branches from near the base, densely pilose. Leaves 1-foliolate; leaflet 2–4(5) × 0.6–1.2(1.5) cm, oblong-lanceolate to oblong-elliptic, pilose on both surfaces; petiole 2–5 mm long; stipules 0. Racemes sessile, 4–20 cm long, densely many-flowered, with a few flowers developing in the axils below; bracts leaf-like, 6–12 mm long, linear-lanceolate; bracteoles 0. Calyx 5–8 mm long, densely silky pilose; upper lobes narrowly triangular-lanceolate, 2.5–4 times as long as the tube. Standard elliptic, pale yellow, red marked, silky tomentose outside; wings ± as long as the keel; keel 6–7 mm long, subangular, with a narrow twisted beak. Pod sessile, 6–8 × 4–5 mm, shortly ovoid-ellipsoid, pilose, 4–8-seeded. Seeds 2–2.5 mm long, oblique-cordiform, smooth, with or without a small aril.
