Description:
Hairless perennial herb with annual stems to 30 cm high, growing from a woody rootstock. Leaves numerous, sessile, spreading to reflexed, linear-lanceolate, to 30 mm long, rounded and apiculate at the apex. Inflorescences usually clustered in terminal umbels. Cyathia c. 3-5 mm, broadly cup-shaped; glands 4-7, rounded, 2-horned or crenulate, bright yellow. Male flowers many; female 1. Capsule deeply 3-lobed, borne on a pedicel up to 1.5 cm long.

Habitat: A pyrophyte of grassland and open woodland

Worldwide distribution: Angola, Cameroon, DRC, Uganda, Sudan and Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
