Description:
Shrubby, somewhat scrambling perennial herb, up to 1.5 m tall. Leaves more or less broadly ovate, up to 14 cm long, base sometimes unequally cordate, glossy hairy, particularly below; margin coarsely and irregularly toothed; petiole up to 10 cm long. Flowers in a pyramidal branched inflorescence up to 30 cm long; peduncles, bracts and calyces, covered with sticky glandular hairs. Corolla 3.5-4.5 cm long, more or less 5-lobed, blue to purple; lower lobe triangular, broader than other lobes, with a pleated, yellow area in the centre. Capsule 15-19 mm long, glandular near the apex.
