Notes: | Meg Coates Palgrave has observed (pers. comm., 2022) that this subspecies bears characteristic galls. These galls resemble wingless slightly bent fruits. Pictures of these may be seen in image no. 3 above. |
Derivation of specific name: | ondongense: from Ondongo in Ovamboland in Namibia where the species was first collected in 1897. |
Habitat: | Mainly restricted to Kalahari sand but sometimes in riverine vegetation. |
