Description: |
Large, many-stemmed shrub or small tree. Bark dark purple-brown, smooth; younger branches often velvety. Leaves alternate, ovate, 3-veined from the base, darker green and rough above; almost silvery-white, covered in woolly hairs below, margins entire. Flowers in axillary clusters, very small, greenish-white, unisexual on the same tree. Fruit a very small nut, enclosed in the papery remains of the flower. |
