Description:
Sub-shrubby perennial, usually less than 1 m tall. Most parts covered in silvery-white hairs. Leaves imparipinnate with 6-9 pairs of leaflets and a terminal leaflet. Leaflets oblong to narrowly obovate, blue-green above, densely whitish velvety below. Flowers in axillary spike-like inflorescences, up to 12 cm long, reddish-pink; bracts and stalks covered in dense whitish hairs. Pods more or less spreading, subcylindrical, 14-21 mm long, densely whitish-orange velvety hairy and some darker hairs.
Notes: Although listed for divisions C,E,& S in Zimbabwe this is not supported in Flora Zambesiaca where only a specimen fro E is cited.

Habitat: In grassland, bracken scrub and along road sides.
Altitude range: (metres) 1000 - 2130 m

Worldwide distribution: Only known from the border mountains of Mozambique and Zimbabwe, including Mt Gorongosa
